On October 3, a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Kyiv was held, and Sergii Svystil, Chairman of the Association of Exporters and Importers “ZED,” was elected to the Presidium. The event was devoted to key issues of the capital's economic development and the strategic role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The meeting focused on the importance of SMEs as the foundation of the capital's economic stability, which is confirmed by impressive statistics:
- Almost a third of the country's businesses: Kyiv is home to almost 28% of all small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine.
- Significant contribution to employment: these enterprises employ almost 23% of all employees in the SME sector throughout the country.
- Economic locomotive: the volume of sales of products, goods, and services generated by Kyiv's SMEs accounts for almost 41% of the national volume in this sector.
The meeting participants emphasized that, given such significant indicators, supporting and developing SMEs, especially in wartime, is a priority for the city authorities. This includes creating favorable conditions for investment, export, and innovation.
The Kyiv City Council of Directors continues to work on developing policies that will ensure the preservation and growth of the capital's small and medium-sized business potential, which is the key to Ukraine's economic recovery.
