On June 12, 2020, a meeting with the Deputy Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ukraine, Mr. Arnur Tanbay was held.
At this meeting the issues of cooperation between Ukrainian and Kazakh companies were discussed. The issue of increasing trade is relevant for both countries.
According to the statistical information of the Ukrainian Embassy in Kazakhstan in 2019, the volume of goods’ trade amounted to 817.1 million dollars and decreased compared to 2018 by 2.3%, while exports of goods from Ukraine to Kazakhstan amounted to 367.1 million dollars and decreased compared to 2018 by 2.5%, imports of goods from Kazakhstan to Ukraine amounted to 450 million dollars and decreased compared to 2018 by 2.3%. The negative balance for Ukraine during this period amounted to 82.9 million dollars and decreased compared to 2018 by 0.8%.
It is possible to increase trade with Kazakhstan, but this requires support from government officials and business. For ZED Association business issues with Kazakh companies were always among the priorities.
Among the current tasks, it was discussed a joint webinar holding in the end of June with the Kazakh side on the certification of goods’ conformity that can be delivered to Kazakhstan, as well as logistics issues, on which there have been positive developments.
